What Gillian Beasley, Chief Exec of Cambridgeshire County Council has to say about Mental Health In The Workplace.

Gillian was kind enough to go on camera with her account of the work we’ve done with her team and the wider organisation.

We engaged Mental Health In The Workplace because we wanted to ensure that we were doing the very best by our people.  Our organisation has been through immense change and has and continues to be subject to increased pressures as we focus on improving the services we provide for our communities.

What we wanted was to increase awareness of mental health amongst our senior and middle management team and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to enable them to better manage their own mental wellbeing so that they can positively influence the wellbeing of our wider workforce, enabling them to provide excellent services.

What we received far exceeded our expectations.  Not only did we receive the training we asked for, but we were also taken through a facilitative process that enabled us to co-create a shared vision of the future where our organisation actively promotes a culture of positive wellbeing, not just for the benefit of our team, but with a direct emphasis on the benefits to the communities we serve.

The outcome has been just brilliant. It’s changed everything and the information, skills and tools we have learnt has resulted in a significant difference in the way we approach things in our organisation.

We now understand the importance and the impact of using our brains effectively and as a result, we start meetings differently, we are more open to other perspectives, we communicate more transparently and we make better decisions.

The work has set us on an incredible path and whilst we know that the real work is yet to come, we have buy in and we have the confidence to make our vision happen.

Tamsen and Gary are both incredible trainers and facilitators and the content is excellent.

This has undoubtedly been the best development work we have ever done and I cannot recommend Mental Health In The workplace highly enough if you are serious about transforming your organisation.
